I remember when I first started, I was overthinking everything. Should I make a workbook? A checklist? A full course? I was so caught up in trying to make the "perfect" choice that I ended up making no choice at all. Sound familiar? Many aspiring digital entrepreneurs struggle with "analysis paralysis." Too many choices often lead to no action. The solution? Make fast decisions, take messy action, and focus on momentum over perfection.


​Instead of asking, "What should I sell?" ask yourself, "What problem can I solve?" The best digital products come from a place of solving real problems for real people. Once you shift your focus to helping rather than selling, everything becomes clearer.

The 7-Day Digital Product Creation Plan

During my latest live training inside the Monetize Your Life Facebook community, we broke this process down into seven action-packed days. Here’s the exact breakdown:

Day 1 & 2: Identify Your Expertise and Audience

What lights you up? Think about your passions, interests, and skills. What are topics you could talk about endlessly?

Who do you feel called to serve? Often, your ideal audience is a past version of yourself. What problems have you solved that others might be struggling with?

What questions do people frequently ask you? Look at social media groups, forums, and your inbox to see common pain points in your niche.

During the live, Charlotte asked, "How do I know if my idea is something people will actually buy?" My answer? Validate before you create. Post about your idea in a community (like ours!) and gauge the response. If people engage, ask questions, or express interest, you’re onto something.

Day 3 & 4: Outline and Structure Your Product

Now that you know your topic, it’s time to build the framework of your digital product.

Choose a format – eBook, checklist, template, mini-course, workbook, or swipe file.

Break it down into easy steps – Think about the simplest way to help someone solve their problem.

Use AI and tools to accelerate your process – Tools like ChatGPT can help brainstorm product names, outlines, and content.

During the live, Vanessa shared that she was working on a book and wanted to add an accompanying workbook. That’s a perfect example of stacking value—giving your audience not just knowledge, but an actionable tool to implement it.

Day 5: Create Your First Draft

Time to take action! Use tools like Canva (for PDFs), Google Docs (for written guides), or Teachable/Kajabi (for courses) to create your product. Keep it simple. Done is better than perfect.

I reminded everyone in the live that my very first digital product wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t perfectly designed. But guess what? It sold! Because it solved a real problem.

Day 6: Polish and Package Your Product

Refine the design, add branding elements, and ensure readability. Pro tip: Use Canva templates to speed up the process.

Day 7: List & Sell Your Product

Create a landing page – Use platforms like Stan Store, Gumroad, or ConvertKit to host your product.

Start promoting – Announce it on social media, offer it to your email list, and share in relevant groups.

Validate & improve – Gather feedback and refine the product based on real-world use.
